Marks:Vivid to Vanished
Following an early engagement with self-portraiture during my A-level studies, I continued to develop my artistic practice in London, and subsequently in Barcelona under the guidance of Francisco Gomez at Taller Milans, then an active artistic space in the city’s historic center.
My paintings are characterized by a vivid, symbolically charged use of color, integrating traditional Austrian motifs within figurative compositions that draw on autobiographical, surreal, and magical-realist registers. In contrast, my drawings operate through a more reduced and ephemeral visual language: composed of minimal lines that dissolve into tonal gradations, they evoke a sense of partial disappearance—suggesting the image as trace, as residue, akin to charcoal dispersing into dust or water unsettled by movement.
